In the run-up to the HT Leadership Summit in Delhi at the month-end, Hindustan Times is conducting college-level debates in Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The HT Summit will include key speakers like Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, industry big-wigs like Rajiv Bajaj and Bollywood’s ‘it’ couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

While the debate has already been held in Bangalore, in Mumbai it will be held on Wednesday, October 21, at St Andrews auditorium in Bandra (West).

A two-member team from each participating college will argue for and against a topic.

There will be a preliminary round in the morning, for which the topic is ‘Should India aspire to be a superpower?’.

The topic for the final round will be announced once the finalists are selected. Colleges like Rizvi College and National College in Bandra will participate in the debate.

The winning team will qualify for the national finals, which will take place in Delhi on October 26.
