Mumbai After facing each other in the recent polls to Zilla Parishad and five municipal corporations in Maharashtra, Congress and NCP may now team up for the May 25 biennial elections to six Legislative Council seats in the State.
Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Manikrao Thakre said talks are on with the NCP to finalise the modalities for contesting the seats together.
The process of filing nominations starts on May 7 and the last date of withdrawal is May 21. The term of the retiring candidates ends on June 21. Members of the local self-government bodies form the electoral college for the elections to these seats. Congress and Sharad Pawar's NCP are part of the ruling alliances in Maharashtra and also at the Centre.
