Extradited gangster Abu Salem on Thursday alleged that a police officer had threatened to kill him in an "encounter".
According to Salem's lawyer, Teg Bahadur Thakur, the incident too place when Salem was brought to JJ Hospital for medical check-up from Taloja jail.
A police officer wanted to hand cuff Salem but he refused.
"Tu kitna bhi bada bhai ho, mein tera encounter kar dunga (however big you are, I will kill you in an encounter)," alleged Thakur, quoting Salem.
He added that Salem did not undergo medical check-up and was immediately taken back to the Taloja jail where he has been lodged after Dawood aide Mustafa Dossa allegedly attacked him inside the Arthur Road jail.
"We will place this grievance before the designated TADA court on Friday when Salem will be produced for a regular court hearing," said Thakur.
Dosa and his aide Abdul Qayyum had allegedly attacked Salem inside the Arthur Road jail on Saturday following which a case of attempt to murder was registered against Doss and the investigation was transferred to the crime branch.
Salem, extradited in 2005 from Portugal, is a key accused in the 1993 serial bomb blasts. He is facing trial in nine cases, including two murders.
