The Kalyan police on Friday arrested two brothers Arun and Sunil Shinde from Kolsewadi in Kalyan (East). The brothers said the phone used to make the call was with their children. At 3.45pm on Friday, the Bazarpeth police station in Kalyan received a call about a bomb on the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) office premises.

Inspector SA Thorat from Bazarpeth police station, said, “The caller told us that a bomb had been planted on the premises of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation office.”

The police first evacuated two KDMC buildings. They then summoned the dog squad, bomb detection-defusing squad and other machinery, which took three hours to make a thorough check of both the buildings.

The police finally concluded that there was no bomb and the buildings were absolutely safe. Now, the police are investigating the case from all angles, said Thorat.
