Cops make 8th arrest in Pune blasts case
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) made the eighth arrest in the six low-intensity blasts at Pune’s Jungli Maharaj Road on August 1, last year. Aslam Jahagirdar alias Bunty, a resident of Shrirampur in Nashik, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly supplying weapons to Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives.

Aslam Jahagirdar alias Bunty, a resident of Shrirampur in Nashik, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly supplying weapons to Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives.
Jahagirdar was produced before a special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Monday and was remanded in police custody till January 24. ATS sources said Jahagirdar’s name cropped up during the interrogation of Syed Feroz, another accused.
Feroz, ATS sources said, had procured sophisticated pistols and ammunition from Jahagirdar to allegedly avenge the death of Qateel Siddique, who was murdered at Yerawada jail.
