Twenty-five senior police officials, including a former Mumbai police commissioner, have been issued notices living in government accommodation even after retiring or holding on to two official residences even after being transferred to other cities.

These officers together owe the state nearly Rs 79.44 lakh in charges and penalties.

The errant officers include former city police commissioner Dhananjay Jadhav, Additional DG (Establishment) Satyapal Singh, Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) in Mumbai Himanshu Roy, DCP of Anti Narcotics Cell Sunil Paraskar and Inspector General of Nanded S.P. Gupta.

“I have issued notices to these 25 officials last week. So far, we have not got any responses from them,” said Police Commissioner Sanjeev Dayal.
