Even after 10 months, the police are clueless about the source of the large quantity of drugs — 110 grams of cocaine, 64 grams of charas and MDMA tablets — that were seized during the bust at a star-studded party in Oakwood Premier hotel at Juhu on May 20 last year.
A senior official from the Juhu police station told HT on Wednesday that neither the source of the drug, nor the carrier, could not be found, and hence these details have not been mentioned in the 1,213-page charge sheet filed in the special NDPS court on Wednesday.
Additional commissioner of police (west region) Vishwas Nangre-Patil, who had conducted the raid, admitted that the investigation so far could not ascertain the source of the drugs or the carrier. “Our investigation is still on. The source will be traced,” Nangre-Patil said.
Nangre-Patil’s squad had rounded up 90 persons during the raid, of which 86 tested positive for drug consumption — 62 tested positive for cannabis, three for both cannabis and charas, 20 had consumed both MDMA and cannabis, while one person had tested positive for MDMA consumption. Thirty three persons had tested positive for alcohol as well as drugs.
