A couple sustained injuries after the bike, on which they were travelling, was hit by a speeding BMW car in the early hours of Saturday morning in Bandra (west).

According to the police, the incident took place around 3.30am at Perry Cross Road in Bandra (West). The couple- Rohit Nair, and his female colleague, both employed at a renowned hotel as receptionists, was heading back home after attending a party at the hotel. They were at Perry Cross Road when a speeding BMW car hit their motorbike throwing them off the vehicle. Pedestrians rushed the duo to hospital.

“The couple is undergoing treatment at Holy Family Hospital in Bandra (west). They have sustained injuries but are in a stable condition,” said a police officer from Bandra police station requesting anonymity.

The police was informed about the incident and they rushed to the spot. The driver of the BMW, Amza Patel, was arrested from the spot, the police said.

Patel told the police that he had lost control over the vehicle due to which he rammed into the motorbike, which was in front of him.
