Seventeen years after he was booked in a drug peddling case, Maliram Saharsar (38) was released on bail by the special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance court on Saturday.
His case, which came up for hearing in 1992-93, was delayed because of the riots in the city.
Despite a non-bailable warrant against him, Saharsar failed to appear in the court as the summons were sent to wrong addresses. Last week when he appeared in the court, he was arrested. However, the court discharged him observing that the case was not against him.
