A 67-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in his office in Cuffe Parade on Thursday afternoon. Though, the police could not ascertain the exact cause of his death, the reason of depression has not been ruled out.

After completing his work, Siraj went to the washroom and allegedly shot himself in the head with a revolver.
The police said that a couple of office staff who were in the office heard the gun shot and rushed to the bathroom to find their employer in the pool of blood. The staff members informed the police and Siraj was rushed to JJ hospital, where he was declared dead before admission. The police officials neither confirmed nor denied whether a suicide note was found.
The police are in the process of recording the statements of Siraj's family members, relatives and staff. “Further investigation is on,” said senior police inspector J. Kharat of Cuffe Parade police station. The police suspect that the businessman could have had losses in the business and that could one of the possible reason for his suicide. The police have registered a case of accidental death.
