Vijay Sangelkar, who attacked CA student Sonal Lapashiya, 25, outside Dadar station, in a case of mistaken identity, has been remanded in further custody of Dadar police till Monday.

Inspector Nishikant Tungare of Matunga police station said: “His custody got over on Friday and we have asked the court for his further custody on the grounds that we still need to interrogate him.”

The police have had difficulty in getting eyewitnesses.

They have written to the Swaminarayan temple authorities to give them CCTV footage of a camera outside the temple and have also sent the sickle and the accused’s clothes to the forensic science laboratory for testing.
