Even as the state government is struggling to mitigate a grave drought situation, the major Opposition parties were busy scoring self-goals by fighting each other rather than corner the Congress-NCP over relief work in the budget session of state legislature that began on Monday.

A day after MNS chief Raj Thackeray accused the BJP of raising the drought issue for personal gains, the latter retaliated by questioning MNS’ intentions.

“We doubt that the MNS wants to strengthen the hands of the government,” said Ekanth Khadse, BJP’s leader of the opposition in the assembly.
