The city police plan to carry out DNA tests on two former boyfriends of Viveka Babajee, the supermodel who died on June 25. The police called it a suicide but her family suspects foul play.
Kartik Jobanputra and Gautam Vora would undergo the tests next week to see if their samples match the human DNA found on the nails of the model in the forensic tests, results of which were handed over the Khar police last week.
Mangesh Pote, senior inspector of Khar police station, said, "The DNA tests will be conducted this week. We have informed both of them about it."
Babajee's family had alleged Vora had lied about his relationship with her. Vora’s statement to the police and the court had stated that he was just a friend of the model.
Babajee's family had said that they believed that only Vora could help them and police solve the mystery behind Babajee’s suicide, as he was the last person she met.
Jobanputra was Babajee's business partner in an event management firm and the two had parted ways after some differences.
