A domestic help with a Dharavi resident was recently arrested for allegedly stealing his employer’s debit card and withdrawing Rs3.17 lakh.
A domestic help with a Dharavi resident was recently arrested for allegedly stealing his employer’s debit card and withdrawing Rs3.17 lakh.
The accused, Mahadev Khatkar, had been employed with the senior citizen, Jagdishchandra Meetha, only for three days before he flicked the debit card. The police have recovered Rs2.5 lakh.

On checking his father’s bank account, Raju, an Andheri resident, found that Rs3.17 lakh had been withdrawn between June 9-14. Also, Khatkar had not reported to work since the withdrawal.
“We laid a trap near his residence and arrested him,” said VV Bagwe, assistant commissioner of police (Mahim division).
