The driver of an oil tanker lost control of the vehicle, which caused it to overturn at the Mulund stretch of Eastern Express Highway (EEH) around 3.30am on Wednesday.
The driver of the tanker, which was carrying 20,000 litres of oil, had dozed off at the wheel as a result of which the vehicle hit the divider and before the driver could control it, the vehicle toppled over. The vehicle was on its way to Gujarat. No one was injured in the accident.
A crane had to be called off to lift the tanker.
The fire brigade was called in to clear the minor oil spill on the road.
