Aarti Shetty, a homemaker, lost control of her car near Vashi Check Naka and crashed into an auto and then hit a trailer. The four people in the auto, including the driver, were thrown out of the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. They have been admitted to hospitals.
While Shetty fractured her right shoulder and her nose, the other two women in her car sustained minor injuries.
SS Rajput, senior inspector of Mankhurd police station, said: “We did a test on Shetty, which shows she was driving drunk.”
The police arrested Shetty on charges of drink driving, rash and negligent driving and causing grievous hurt. She was produced before court later in the day and granted bail.
