According to the police, both the accused was under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place.
Senior police inspector S Dhanedhar from the Sakinaka police station said: “On Tuesday, a drunk Pramod Gautam, 20, entered the house of his elder brother Rajesh, 35. The two brothers had fought the previous night as Pramod wanted money from Rajesh to go to their native place. Rajesh had refused to pay him after which they had a big fight.”
He added, “On Tuesday morning, Rajesh gave him Rs 2,000. The accused used the money for drinking. He then came home in the afternoon still bearing the grudge for the previous night’s fight. He started fighting with his brother again and when his brother pushed him, Pramod took a blade kept near the window pane and attacked Rajesh.”
Pramod rushed his brother to the Rajawadi Hospital but he was declared dead before admission,” said Dhandedhar Pramod was arrested.
“Pramod told us that he took the action in a fit of rage and has been crying since then. Both the brothers were employed at a chair-weaving workshop. Pramod however was not reporting to work for the past two months,” said Dhandedhar.
