Factory blast: Boy, aunt relive the horror

mumbai Updated: May 29, 2016 11:26 IST

DOMBIVLI: Six- year- old Shreyash Gaikwad was thrown into the air by the force of Thursday’s explosion at Probace Enterprises, a chemicals company at Dombivli MIDC, but was saved by his aunt who caught him near the window of their flat on the second floor.

The Prathamesh Darshan building where his aunt lives is hardly 50 metres away from the spot.

Harshada Pandit, Shreyas’ aunt, who is a college student, said, “Shreyash was playing near the window when we heard a loud sound causing the window glass to shatter. He was thrown into the air and I managed to get hold of him. He was taken to a nearby clinic where he was treated for a few glass pieces which entered his eye.”

“I remember my aunt catching me like a ball,” said Shreyash.
