Family of actor Jiah Khan, who allegedly committed suicide at her Juhu home earlier this week, said they were unhappy with her relationship with Aditya Panscholi's son, Sooraj as he “did not treat her right.”
Her family said she cared more about love than her career and was not depressed.
“Towards the end, Jiah did not really speak about her relationship with Sooraj to us. She knew we did not like him. She knew we disapproved [of their relationship] because he did not treat her right. So I guess she started speaking to us less about it,” said Karisma, her sister.
Commenting on Jiah’s career, her sisters claimed that she was not depressed as ups and downs are part of everyone's professional life.
“She was happy. She went to Hyderabad [for a Tamil film audition] and was really excited about it. It was just that she cared more about love than her career. She was a hopeless romantic,” said Kavita, the youngest sister. “Her career was going up. There was no reason for her to be sad over it.”
Karisma said she had spoken to Jiah through an online video chat a day before she killed herself.”She was so happy. She was laughing. If there was any sign of depression, we would have done something to help her,” she said.
Jiah's mother Rabea also claimed her daughter was not depressed. “She was not on medication. May be she was heart-broken, but not depressed.”
