Highlight Story

The man who now owns the flat that Vijay Palande tried to grab in 1998 by killing its owners, Air India engineer Anup Das and his father, says he had curious experience in September last year when five men barged in one evening asking where Palande was.

He called the cops and two of the men were caught and taken to the police station. The others fled. The businessman who bought the flat at Ruia Park, Juhu, from Anup’s mother in 2005 says the cops were questioning the men at the station when they got a phone call. The cops then stopped questioning the two.

A little later a man in uniform came to the station and took the men away. The businessman said he did not pursue the case in the face of stonewalling by authorities.
