Four arrested for kidnapping two friends

Four men were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping a 23 year old man and his friend from Worli.

One of the accused suspected Manish Nandaniya (23) of having an affair with his sister, said the police.

The NM Joshi Marg police said Ajay Sawant (22), Jayesh Surve (26), Sagar Kir (22) and Swapnil Viturkar (19) allegedly pushed Nandaniya and his friend Ramesh Pal (24) into a Scorpio at Worli on Monday.

Sawant threatened Nandaniya to stay away from his sister.

Senior Inspector Vasant Tajane, of NM Joshi Marg police station, said, “Nandaniya and Sawant’s sister, Namrata, worked in a retail cloth store near Chivdagalli at Lalbaug. After Namrata quit her job recently, Nandaniya had given her a SIM card to stay in touch. When Sawant learnt about this, he got angry and decided to warn Nandaniya.”

Witnesses noted down the number of the Scorpio and informed the police.

The duo was released by the accused, The police intercepted their car at 8.30 pm.
