Four held for robberies in Ulhasnagar

Ulhasnagar crime investigation unit has arrested four for plotting to rob a jewellery shop at Shahad Fatak, Ulhasnagar.

The police learnt that the accused have been involved in other robberies and also stole motorcycles, said DCP Dattatary Karale, Crime investigation branch, Thane Commissionerate.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dattatary Karale said: "Ulhasnagar crime investigation unit got a tip-off that notorious robber Mangesh Bhoir and his seven accomplices were coming to rob Sachin Jeweller at Shahad Fatak. The police laid a trap and arrested the four accused but two were still absconding."

The police have seized three motorcycles, a sword, two choppers and a knife. Karale said the accused have confessed to the crime.

After stealing motorcycles from Kalyan and Ulhasnagar, the accused used to dismantle the bikes and send it to Nashik, Jalgoan or Nagar area.

The police have seized six motorcycles.
