Navi Mumbai: Four well-known real estate agents from Panvel were found dead on Wednesday morning. The Navi Mumbai police suspect they were murdered over a property deal. However, no arrests have been made in the case so far.

The bodies of Ramdas Patil,53, of Pendhar village, Balaram Tople,42, of Sivakar village, Nitin Joshi,40, of New Panvel and Pritam Gharat,25, of Murbi village were found at a farm house in Shiravale village in Panvel.

While Tople had been shot dead, the other three had head injuries and appeared to have been bludgeoned to death with a stone.

While there was no official confirmation, police sources said they suspect that as the four deceased were major property dealers in the area, the murders could have been over a property deal gone wrong.

The police said the four were partying at the farm house, which belongs to Datta Patil, the vice-chairman of the Panvel Agriculture Produce Market Committee. One of the deceased, Ramdas Patil is reportedly his relative. The bodies were discovered by the caretaker in the morning.

A number of finger prints have been found in the house, which the police have sent for analysis.

Pramod Shevale, deputy commissioner of police said, “We have found the pistol and the stone that were used as the murder weapons.”

The police have interrogated Datta Patil and the caretaker of the farm house, sources said.
