Ghatkopar murder

Police probing the murder of Ghatkopar resident Daksha Daftary suspect that the senior citizen may have been murdered by her masseuse. The latter, said to be in her 40s, has been missing since the incident.

The Daftary family had few details on the suspect, identified by police as Anita Shinde.

Investigators said diamond jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh was missing from the flat, indicating that robbery may have been the motive behind the murder. Police also suspect that more people may have been involved.

The investigation has revealed that Daftary hired Shinde as a masseuse about three weeks ago. However, the woman had worked at the residence as a domestic help for a few days four months ago. Police have released a sketch of the accused and have launched a manhunt for her.

They are also questioning a security guard who works at the building and a domestic help employed by the Daftarys.
