A 60-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by her domestic help who fled with cash and valuables worth Rs 90,000 on Saturday at Malad (east).

Neighbours rushed Chandrakala Agarwal to Lifeline Hospital. She said to be out of danger. Agarwal stays with her son and daughter-in-law at Heena Gaurav in Dindoshi and was alone when the incident occurred.

The police said the victim had hired Raju, 19, five days ago.

The police said Raju attempted to steal the money when the victim tried to intervene. Raju hit her on the head with a stool and fled with Rs50,000 cash and ornaments worth Rs 40,000.

“We have registered a case against Raju and are trying to track him down,” said Vinayak Kakade, senior police inspector.
