Police on Tuesday arrested garment exporter Pawan Gupta on charges of having aided and abetted the suicide of his wife Nidhi, 31, and also for allegedly harassing her for dowry.
On Monday, Nidhi's sister-in-law Sunita Gupta was nabbed.
Both Pawan and Sunita were produced in court and have been remanded to police custody till March 21.
Nidhi had jumped off the 19th floor of the building in the Sahyadri Housing Complex in Malad (East) after tossing out her two children, Gaurav, 6, and Mihika, 3, on March 8.
Nidhi's father had told police his daughter was mentally tortured by her husband and in-laws. Following this, police had registered the case.
"Both Sunita and Pawan still maintain there were no problems in the family," said Ramrao Pawar, additional commissioner of police (north region).
The other family members (Pawan's brother, mother and father), who too are wanted in the case, have approached court, seeking anticipatory bail. The court has given them a day's interim relief and then they would have to produce themselves before the judge.
On the day of the suicide, senior police inspector Vinayak Kakade had said: "Nidhi has left a suicide note in which she has stated that nobody is to be held responsible for their deaths."
Nidhi used to take guest lectures at a college.
Police say Nidhi dressed Mihika for school and packed her bag. She then left home at around 8.25am with Mihika and Gaurav. Then, instead of going down, she, with her children, took the elevator to the 18th floor, from where she climbed to the 19th and took the fatal step.
