The elder of two Mira Road sisters who were allegedly raped by their father and a tantrik, has messaged a police officer saying she is being pressured to marry the tantrik’s son.

The 19-year-old victim’s message, sent on Friday, says pressure is mounting on her to marry Rajiv, tantrik Hasmukh Rathod’s (60) son.

She said she wanted guidance from the officer, but did not name anyone as pressuring her.

Employed as a designer for vehicle number plates, she said she is being taunted that nobody would marry her, and that she will spend her life as a spinster.

She said she was told that once she marries Rajiv, who works in a call centre, her life would be transformed since all his property would be hers.

In March, she had lodged a complaint at Mira Road police station alleging that her father, Kishore Chauhan and Hasmukh, a family friend, had raped her — in connivance with her mother — over the last nine years.

She added that she was forced to complain after they also raped her younger sister, a Class 10 student.

Chauhan and Hasmukh are in a Thane jail.

Both victims now live with their maternal uncle at Santacruz, along with their mother, Anjana, who has joined them after her release on bail.

The officer, asking not to be named, said: “I told her to prepare herself mentally, as she may have to confront her immediate family if she wants to get out of this mess.”

Senior Police Inspector Mukund Mahajan, of Mira Road police station, said: “We will register a case, and have asked the victim to approach the court, which will take cognisance of it.”
