The police inspector in-charge of the special branch 5 was booked for allegedly sexually harassing a woman police sub-inspector working in the same unit.
On January 23, Prakash Rane (52) called the sub-inspector to his office for some information about a case, said the complaint.
Rane used lewd words and passed obscene comments. The victim gave a written application to the deputy commissioner of police Sanjay Baviskar. “The DCP has told the assistant commissioner of police to investigate into the case. On Tuesday, we booked Rane,” said Vikram Patil, senior police inspector.
Rane has not been arrested yet. Patil said: “We will arrest him after taking his statement.”
