A Sessions court on Friday extended the judicial custody of Kashinath Tapuriah, an aide of Pune businessman Hasan Ali Khan, till April 29.
The Enforcement Directorate was granted permission to interrogate him for two days.
Principal judge SS Joshi, while extending the custody of Tapuriah, also allowed the ED to take Tapuriah from Arthur Road jail to the ED office in Nariman Point and interrogate him on April 18 and April 19 from 10 am to 5.30 pm.
The ED had earlier stated that they had seized incriminating evidence after searches at the residence of Tapuriah. The evidence included documents that showed transfer instructions from the account of Khan to various other accounts, and a copy of correspondence with UBS Bank.
The ED also stated that Tapuriah had allegedly also travelled abroad with Hasan Ali Khan to Switzerland, London, Dubai, Singapore and other countries to facilitate the latter’s money laundering activities.
The ED also alleged that Tapuriah along with Khan had prepared notorised documents referring to links with Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi and which referred to a huge transaction with regard to foreign accounts abroad.
