Juhu senior citizen murder: One house help held in Bihar

The Juhu police have arrested one of the two house help who allegedly murdered 67-year-old Bharti Shah who lived alone at her residence in Juhu.

“The accused, who has been identified as Radhey, was arrested from Bihar on Wednesday”, said a police officer from Juhu police station on the condition of anonymity.

Shah was found murdered in her apartment in Anand society in Juhu's Barfiwala lane on September 12 by her elder sister, 74-year-old Ila Mehta. The police are now on the look out for Radhey's accomplice.

Radhey and his accomplice were hired two days prior to the murder. They had strangled Shah using a stole. Following this, they stole cash and valuables from the house and fled. None of Shah's neighbours knew the accused, as they had been hired recently.

Mehta suspected foul play when Shah she did not answer her phone and went to check on her at her flat. On opening the door using a pair of spare keys, Mehta found Shah lying motionless. Further investigations into the case are on.
