The Mumbai Region Congress Committee (MRCC) has officially dismissed reports that its president Kripashankar Singh has resigned.

MRCC general secretary Javed Shroff and secretary Dilip Chalil told party members and media on Tuesday that Singh had not resigned. “Please ignore messages being circulated (that Singh has quit) by people with vested interests.”

Shroff said the people who are spreading rumours are politically insecure. Singh was unreachable for comments. All India Congress Committee member (in-charge of Maharashtra) Mohan Prakash told HT that he did not have information on Singh's resignation.

Last week, Singh was reported to have offered to quit over allegations of links with 2-G scam-tainted DB Realty Group.
