A 50-year-old construction labourer was found murdered on the fifth floor of the under-construction site of India Bulls tower no 2 in Dadar on Sunday morning.
The police initially registered a case of accidental death. However, when the post-mortem reports pointed that the victim, identified as Chandar Jeemni Mukhiya, was throttled to death, it was turned into murder case on Monday. Three labourers who were working on the fifth floor along with the deceased are also missing.
Mukhiya had been working as labourer for the past four years.
Mukhiya’s wife, temporarily put up at India Bulls tower no 1, said: “My husband had dinner on Saturday night around 8.30pm. He then went to sleep at the makeshift room at the fifth floor of tower no 2, where he was working.
“On Sunday morning I was told that he was dead. I still cannot understand why anyone would want to kill him.”
AD Unde, senior inspector, Dadar police station, said: “The three labourers who have been missing are the prime suspects. We are trying to get their names and addresses.”
Despite repeated attempts, India Bulls- Real Estate could not be contacted for their comment.
