Lodge raided, 8 held for flesh trade

The manager of a lodge was arrested after police raided it in connection with flesh trade racket.

The manager of a lodge was arrested after police raided it in connection with flesh trade racket.

Seven women were also arrested.

The Central police station officials raided Blue Berry Lodging and Boarding and arrested its manager Hariprasad Anand Shetty.

Deputy commissioner of police Saarang Awad, Ulhasnagar said: “The police got information that the manager of Blue Berry Lodging and Boarding, near Maharaja Marriage Hall, had brought the women from Bangladesh for flesh business. The police first sent fake customers to confirm the information. After it was confirmed, the police immediately raided it.”

An offence against Shetty was filed under Indian Penal Code 342 and women and Girl Trafficking Act 1956 section 3,4, and 9.
