Malad bizman robbed of 15.75 lakh

A businessman was attacked and robbed of Rs 15.75 lakh near his Dindoshi residence in Malad east on Tuesday. The victim, Pravinkumar Rajawat, 46, runs a business of aluminium utensils in Girgaum.

According to the police, as Rajawat got off his car in the building compound, two unidentified persons approached him. One of them struck him on his neck while the other snatched the bag containing the cash generated from the business. The duo then fled the spot.

The police said the security guard of the society had gone for dinner when the incident took place.

"The accused were waiting for Rajawat which indicates they already knew he was carrying cash," said senior inspector Vinayak Kakade.

Rajawat was rushed to Bhagwati Hospital where he was discharged after treatment.
