Malad bust: four women rescued from flesh trade

The Social Service Branch of the Mumbai police rescued four women between 19 and 23 years of age, who had been forced into prostitution. The women were rescued from an Innova car parked opposite a mall in Malad on Thursday.

The Social Service Branch of the Mumbai police rescued four women between 19 and 23 years of age, who had been forced into prostitution. The women were rescued from an Innova car parked opposite a mall in Malad on Thursday.

The police seized Rs26,000 in cash, eight mobile phones collectively worth Rs48,000 and some documents, apart from the Innova whose current worth is estimated to be Rs5 lakh.

The police also arrested five persons, who are believed to have forced the girls into flesh trade. The arrested persons have been identified as Hema Kapoor, 49, Pappu Soni, 23, Krishnakumar Raseilly, 23, Sunil Kakadia, 24, and Jitesh Kazavapra, 31. Officials said five more people are wanted in the case.

All the arrested persons have been handed over to the Bangur Nagar police.
