After key files related to the Adarsh housing society scam went missing from the urban development department, the ministry of environment and forests and then from the Army headquarters, now maps of Colaba and survey sheets from 1872 to 1960 seem to have disappeared from the land records office.

The missing documents include 4 survey sheets covering Block VI of Colaba (Adarsh is on Block VI). The maps of 1847 or 1882 could have shown whether the Adarsh plot existed at the time.

On Friday, Sanjay Dhikle, superintendent of City survey and Land Records of Mumbai city, admitted to the two-member Adarsh commission that "certain survey sheets from 1872 to 1960 and survey maps of 1847 or 1882 were missing".
