A 14-year-old mentally challenged boy was sodomised and his private parts burned by four men on Wednesday in a residential building in Kalyan. The boy’s father lodged a police complaint on Friday.

He had tried to lodge a complaint on Thursday but was intercepted and beaten up by the accused. He sustained minor injuries and had to be hospitalised.

Three of the four accused were arrested and have been identified as Taufiq Rais, 26, Asafi Ganiyal, 19 and Shambhu Mandekar, 30. The fourth, Tofik, is absconding.

The accused had taken the boy to the terrace of a residential building and had unnatural sex with him. When the boy protested, they burned his private parts. They also cut off his eyebrows and his hair, and then paraded the boy in the area. Inspector Ravindra Tayde said investigations were on in the case.

In Bandra, on Sunday, a 14-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly sodomising his 10-year-old friend. The incident took place at the accused’s home at Nityanand Nagar slums in Bandra. He was charged for unnatural sex and later released.
