Three minors have been arrested for killing their 16-year-old classmate. Anandnagar resident Dinesh Yadav, who was brutally beaten up by the accused a few days ago, succumbed to his injuries on Friday at Sion hospital. One accused is reportedly absconding.

The Kalwa police station had registered a case of attempt to murder but post Yadav’s death, the accused have been booked for murder. The incident took place on March 28 — the last day of the SSC exams.

“The deceased and the accused were SSC students of Panchamukhi School in Kalwa. One of the accused, Hanumant Shinge, considered a girl from their batch as his sister. The deceased would tease and harass her. So, he along with the other accused beat Yadav up. Yadav died due to cerebral haemorrhage,” said sub-inspector Archana Pujari. The police are on the look-out for the fourth accused, Umesh Yadav.
