The Bharatiya Janata Party, on the last day of campaigning for the Kalyan-Dombivli civic polls, criticised the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) saying it was an "offshoot of the Congress.
"The MNS is a party without any philosophical base. A vote for the MNS is indirectly a vote for the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party alliance," BJP spokesperson, Prakash Jawadekar, said on Friday.
Jawadekar raked up several issues including the arrest of Gujarat minister Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case and the problems the BJP government in Karnataka faced. "The Congress is trying to damage the image of the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh," he said. He also called the Central Bureau of Investigation the 'Congress Bureau of Investigation'.
