Investigation into the death of 23-year-old Bidushi Dash-Barde has narrowed down to the broken glass shelf in her house. DN Nagar police officers who took the opinion of various glass dealers said the glass must have been broken before Bidushi either collapsed on to it or was pushed towards it.

Considering the thickness of the glass, it is highly unlikely that the glass shelf was intact before it became of the cause of her death, glass dealers have told police. It has left a question mark for investigators as Bidushi's husband, Kedar, in his statement, has not mentioned any broken glass shelf, police said. An DN Nagar police officer said, "After the glass dealers gave us their opinion, we are re-examining to find out if the glass was already broken. It possibly is the only way it could have left gashes on her neck."

The post-mortem reports also suggest that the wound on Bidushi's neck could not have been sustained by a mere fall.

The other key point that negates that Bidushi could have collapsed because of low blood sugar levels is because Kedar had given her tea with extra sugar before he left for office. "Even if Bidushi suffers from low sugar levels, it is highly unlikely that she would collapse after drinking that tea," the officer said.

While police said the chances of Kedar being involved in Bidushi's death were slim, investigations were being made to ascertain all possibilities.

The police are also trying to ascertain the identity of the mystery man who was allegedly spotted outside Bidushi's flat by an elderly maid that day. VD Bhoite, senior inspector, said, "The woman saw the man from behind, from a distance. But neither his entry into the building nor exit has been captured in the CCTV footage of the bank that covers the building gate. " Investigators are also ascertaining if Bidushi had taken a large loan that Kedar did not know about.
