More irregularities have been found in Hotel Ramee Guestline, Juhu.

The municipal corporation’s demolition drive continued on Thursday as officials found the popular discotheque of the hotel, Rock Bottom, to be illegal.

“We will issue a notice under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act as the hotel’s design shows the area as a store room but was being used as a discotheque,” said R.W. Pawar, assistant municipal commissioner, K-West ward.

According to civic officials from the ward office, portions on the first floor were also illegal and were demolished on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials began demolishing the hotel’s illegal rooftop restaurant, It’s Mirchi. A terrace that housed a swimming pool was also razed.

All these irregularities came to light after a seven-year-old boy Aditya Dube, who was playing in the Juhu restaurant on Saturday night as his family dined there, fell over the 2-ft-high parapet and on to the ground when the acrylic sheet below him gave way.

The BMC officials said there were no signs in the dining area warning people against stepping on the sheets.

The officials added the support base under the acrylic tiles was a weak wooden frame.

In 2009, the rooftop restaurant was served a notice and was demolished.

On May 17 and July 6 last year, inspections by the BMC’s health department revealed that the restaurant was functioning with an expired licence.
