Motorman assaulted for train delay

Railway commuters allegedly assaulted a motorman because of a delay in train services at Borivli station on Thursday. HT reports.

Railway commuters allegedly assaulted a motorman because of a delay in train services at Borivli station on Thursday.

Ajit Salve sustained injuries close to his eyes before the police rescued him. Police registered a case of assault against unidentified commuters.

A motormen union threatened to go strike if the government fails to protect its members. “We will stall services if such an incident is repeated,” said PM Gupta, general secretary, Western Railway Motormen Association.

The cause of the delay in train services was not ascertained till the time of going to press.
