MSC Chitra, which was severely damaged after it collided with MV Khalijia-3 on August 7 last year, has been moved 30 nautical miles outside the Mumbai Port Trust limit following another accident.
On March 19, the anchor wires of the ship, that was anchored at the Mumbai Port Trust, snapped.
The vessel was maneuvered safely outside the port without any damage to other vessels.
Following the incident, MSC Chitra has been moved about 30 nautical miles north of the entrance of Mumbai Port, the Directorate General of Shipping said.
Having partially submerged after an accident in August last year, MSC Chitra was refloated on March 10 and was being prepared to be taken to Alang in Gujarat to be scrapped.
