The Valiv police arrested four people, including three minors in connection with the gang-rape case of a 13-yearold girl in Palghar district, after she was found to be pregnant.

The four of them, who are allegedly known to the girl, have been accused of gang-raping the minor girl in February.

“We have arrested the four accused after the girl gave us their names. We are awaiting the medical reports,” said NC Patil, inspector at Valiv police station.

The girl, scared of her mother’s reaction, did not tell anyone about the incident even after five months. The accused had threatened the girl with dire consequences, she told the police in her statement.

The three minor teenagers are students in Class 6 (aged 14-15 years), while their fourth accomplice works as a labourer in a company.

The girl stays in Valiv alone with her mother, who works as a house help.

In February, the accused kidnapped her from near her school. They blindfolded her and tied her up after which she was taken to an unknown location. Officials said the accused took turns to rape her.
