Suburban railway commuters in Mumbai should be prepared for inconveniences on Sunday as services on all three lines will be blocked for maintenance work.
The Western Raliway (WR) will undertake the mega block between Santacruz and Goregaon stations from 10.35am to 3.35pm on both the slow lines. During the period, slow trains will be diverted on the fast corridor.
On the Central Railway’s (CR) main line, the block will be undertaken on the Matunga-Mulund slow line going towards Mulund from 11.30am to 3.30pm. Trains going towards Mulund will be diverted on the fast corridor and therefore will not halt at Vidhyavihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur stations. Passengers travelling to these stations will have to travel via Ghatkopar, Bhandup and Mulund.
All fast services between the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Thane will halt at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla in addition to their scheduled halts and will be running 15 minutes behind schedule from 10.08am till the block ends, according to the CR press release.
On the harbour line, the block will be undertaken between Kurla-CST and Wadala Road-Mahim from 11.30am to 3.30pm. During the period, trains from Kurla will be diverted on the main fast line up to Byculla and will halt at Sion, Matunga, Dadar and Parel stations. Harbour line trains to Bandra and Andheri will remain suspended.
Harbour line passengers for Bandra and Andheri will have to use the CR main line or WR services from 10am to 6pm.
