Mumbai: Two men booked for molesting 16-year-old

Two men have been booked for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old girl at Grant Road on Saturday.

The DB Marg police have launched a manhunt for the unidentified accused after a complaint was lodged on Sunday. The incident took place when the Class 11 student was returning home after attending her coaching classes at CP Tank road, police said.

According to the police, after dropping her friend home, the minor was walking towards her house at Grant Road when two bike-borne men assaulted her.

“Around 7pm, the two bike-borne accused came towards her. The pillion rider then hit the girl on her face and hand, with the intension of molesting her,” said a police officer at the DB Marg police station.

They then fled towards Tardeo, the girl said in her statement. The minor could not note down the number of the bike and told the police that the rider was wearing a helmet.

After reaching home, she narrated the incident to her parents, who then approached the police.

“We have registered a case under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and are looking for the accused,” said Sardar Patil, inspector, DB Marg police station.
