With results of degree exams expected to be announced soon, the University of Mumbai (MU) has announced that students applying for re-evaluation of papers can get their corrected mark sheets within 15 days after the corrected marks are displayed on the varsity website.
According to the examination department of the varsity, the decision will be implemented with immediate effect. As reported by HT earlier, several complaints were made by students at the grievance cell of the varsity and at open house sessions organised by it after they did not receive corrected mark sheets even after six months from the announcement of revised results.
Dinesh Bhonde, controller of examinations at MU, said, “With demands made by senate members and directions from the vice-chancellor, we took the decision to ensure that the corrected mark sheets are allotted early.”
A BCom student said, on condition of anonymity, “This decision will ensure that the academic year of these students is not wasted henceforth. I failed in two subjects in the sixth semester last year. I cleared the paper after re-evaluation. Results were declared in September 2014. However, it took me around eight months to receive my corrected mark sheet.”
