Navy hawaldar held while taking bribe
The anti-corruption branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a hawaldar posted at Command Works Engineer (Naval Work), Navy Nagar, while accepting Rs.3,000 as bribe from candidates for the post of mate-mason.

According to the CBI, Rajeev Rajput had allegedly demanded the bribe to rectify some mistakes in the application forms. A CBI statement said that Rajput had also demanded Rs one lakh from each candidate to provide the question paper before the written examination and a further lakh on the day of the interview to ensure that they passed.
After secretly verifying the complaints received by them, CBI officials laid a trap at one of the complainant’s residential premises and caught him the moment he accepted the alleged bribe of Rs.3,000.
During the personal search of Rajput, one more application and Rs.12,500 were found and seized.
CBI officials said that searches were in progress at Rajput’s residential and office premises. Rajput was produced before the special judge and remanded to police custody till May 9.
