In the next eight weeks, Mumbai will get an electronic ticketing card, which will replace the Kaizan Smart card. It will be a photo identity card that the conductor will swipe on his hand-held machine for issuing a ticket.

Once the card is swiped, the machine will print a ticket.

The new card will cost Rs 20, but those who have the Kaizan Smart card will get theirs replaced for free. These cards will be renewed on a monthly basis and can be done by the conductor.

The BEST will make the card available at one of its depots.
