US President Barack Obama will be presented with a Marathi edition of his biography ‘Yes We Can’ during his Mumbai visit. Written by Nerul resident Raj Kandalkar, who has also penned the Marathi biography of Michael Jackson, the book will be handed over to Obama by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the MNS Muslim Sanskritik Welfare Sanstha.

Kandalkar, who will also meet Obama, said, “It’s a pleasure that I have an opportunity to gift a copy of my book to the person about whom I wrote, and that too in my own country. That is the reason why I am accompanying the team, although I don’t belong to any political or religious group.”

Shahnawaz Khan, president, MNS Muslim Sanskritik Welf-are Sanstha, said, “We plan to greet the President on behalf of our association with a copy of his biography, the first Marathi book on a President’s life.”

Khan added that they are discussing the issue with the US embassy. “Although, they have accepted our request, no date has been fixed yet,” said Khan.

According to Khan, they will hand over a letter to Obama stating the Muslim world’s satisfaction to his policies. “The letter will highlight the fact that all Muslims are not terrorists. This sentiment has predominated the western world in recent times, which hurts Muslims all over the world.”
